Changelog

What's new in HouseCrew Money

Every release, newest first. The app shows the same notes after it updates.

0.14.0 October 23, 2026

Added

  • A quick security check from Cloudflare on the sign-in page, and when deleting your account, to keep automated sign-ups out. Most people don't have to do anything; once in a while it asks you to tick a box.

Changed

  • Online budgets in the Windows app need this version. Older versions ask you to update.

0.13.0 October 23, 2026

Added

  • Try HouseCrew Money with a sample budget before signing up: six months of a made-up household's paychecks, bills, card spending and a car loan, with a card statement to reconcile, imports to file and a balance that runs low next week. Change anything. Save it to an account with your email address to keep it; otherwise it's deleted after 7 days.
  • Split transactions in Quicken (QIF) files and YNAB exports now import split between their categories, instead of uncategorized. The import shows them as "Split" with the parts; pick a category to import one unsplit. Parts the app can't keep (a transfer, or money going the other way, like a paycheck's deductions) still come in uncategorized.

Fixed

  • Dates after a daylight saving change showed a day early: when a balance runs low on Home, Forecast and Accounts, the forecast's days and chart labels, and how many days until a card payment is due.

0.12.0 October 19, 2026

Added

  • The web app notices when a new version is out and offers to reload.
  • When a change to budgets in your account needs a newer version of the app, the app asks you to update before it opens one, so an old copy left open can't get things wrong.
  • The web app works on a phone: a bar at the bottom for Home, Transactions, Accounts, Forecast and More, and Home, the forecast, the transactions and Needs review laid out to fit. Tap a transaction to edit it, or press and hold it for the rest (select, mark posted, link as a transfer, delete). Needs review shows one item at a time, with List for the whole queue.
  • Import QIF files from Quicken, Microsoft Money and other programs. A file with several accounts shows each one, matched to yours by name, and transactions keep their categories. Categories you don't have yet can be added with one click.
  • Import the transactions exported from YNAB (Register.csv), Monarch or Mint as they are, with no columns to set up. Each account in the file shows on its own, matched to yours by name, transactions keep their categories, and transfers and card payments are paired as usual.
  • What's new: after an update the sidebar (or More, on a phone) offers what changed since the version you used last. Search for "What's new" to read every release.
  • "Where do I get these files?" on Home and the import page says how to download your transactions from the 15 largest US banks and card issuers, and from any other bank.
  • Two-factor sign-in: Settings > Your account can ask for a code from an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password) as well as your password, so your password alone can't open your budgets. Turning it on signs you out on your other devices.

Fixed

  • On a phone, adding the first accounts on Home no longer runs off the screen.

0.11.0 October 19, 2026

Added

  • Download everything: Settings > Backups saves a zip of everything in a budget in your account, every table as a spreadsheet (CSV) and JSON, with the attached files. The Windows app can restore it as a budget kept on that computer.
  • Delete your account from Settings > Your account. Budgets nobody else is in are deleted; budgets you share stay with the people you share them with.

Fixed

  • Deleting a budget now deletes its attached files too. Only an owner can delete a budget.

0.10.0 October 19, 2026

Changed

  • A new name and look: HouseCrew Money, part of the HouseCrew family of apps, with a new icon. Your budget, settings and sign-in carry over. On Windows the data folder moves to %APPDATA%\HouseCrew Money the first time it starts.

0.9.0 October 18, 2026

Added

  • Recurring credit card payments: pay the minimum, the statement balance or the current balance a set number of days before each statement is due.
  • Loan accounts with an amortization schedule and "What if you paid more?".
  • Credit limits for credit cards, and twice-a-month schedules.
  • Card payment suggestions from each card's latest statement.

Changed

  • Imports use the transaction date rather than the posted date.
  • Budgets in an account load faster when they have many transactions.
  • Passwords need at least 10 characters.
  • Invites can only be accepted from a confirmed email address.
  • A new account gets its first budget the first time it signs in, rather than when it signs up.
  • The web app no longer loads its engine from Google.
