Know where every account will stand, weeks before you get there.
Not one blended cash-flow line: a forecast for each account, from your own bills, card statements and paydays. When Checking will dip under your alert, Money tells you when, why, and which transfer covers it.
Built from what you already know is coming
Your paycheck, rent, the car payment and the streaming services are schedules: weekly, every two weeks, twice a month (the 1st and the 15th, say), monthly, quarterly or yearly. Money adds each one to the forecast as a pending transaction, so you can see it, move it or skip just this one.
You don't have to type them all. Money looks through what you've imported for payees that come back on a pattern and suggests them as schedules. Add one with a click, or dismiss it.
The runway
The runway is one row per account, cash first: today's balance, a small chart of the weeks ahead, the lowest point and a status. "Under the alert for 3 days" is a problem worth a look. "Stays above $500" isn't. A card shows when it's paid in full.
Look 31, 60 or 90 days ahead. Each account has its own alert amount, so Savings can warn at $1,000 and Checking at $200.
What if
Pick an account and Money suggests the transfer that keeps it above its alert: how much, from which account, and on which day. The chart shows the result before you commit, and adding it puts a pending transfer on both accounts. Try other amounts and dates, too.
Day by day
Every pending change in date order, with the running balance after it and a marker where the alert is crossed. Skip one occurrence of a schedule ("not this month") without touching the rest, and undo it if you change your mind.
Loans, too
A loan's payment splits into principal, interest and escrow, so the forecast shows the real amounts. Try an extra payment and see the new payoff date beside the original schedule.
The forecast is only as good as what's in it. It shows what your schedules and pending transactions add up to; it isn't financial advice, and a surprise bill is still a surprise.
